RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the technical design of projects, understanding all aspects of the project and their interrelation.
Prepare design and construction documents.
Consult with manufacturers, research and evaluate materials.
Create interior and exterior details with a demonstrated knowledge in building codes, industry best practices and specifications.
Develop work plans, assigns task, and direct and review the work of Job Captains and Architectural Associates.
Manage project budget and schedule to meet client and ACS goals.
Provide technical code assistance to team.
Coordinate with engineering consultants, communicate project requirements and schedules, and review their drawings.
Research requirements for entitlements and plan review submittals to the authorities having jurisdiction and preparing those submittals. Review project with permitting officials and address review comments.
Assist in construction administration including responding to RFI s, preparing sketches and addenda, visiting the construction site and/or preparing a punch list.
Communicate with all levels including the owner, contractor and other stakeholders.
Assist in estimating time required to complete a task or project and to develop fees for client RFPs.
Maintain project files. Compile record CD file of drawings at project milestones. Document all communications with outside parties. Document and distribute all critical project information to appropriate team members and outside parties.
Provide information, developmental support and training to team members. Utilize established office training processes and procedures designed to expand the knowledge and enhance the skills of the project team members.
Some travel required for site surveys, field visits and meetings
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTo succeed in this position, you must meet the following criteria:
Education/Licenses:
Graduated with a degree in Architecture or a related program
Licensed architect in minimum of one state
Experience/Skills/Abilities:
Five to ten years’ experience working in a production role on hotel, restaurant, retail and/or senior living projects
High degree of experience coordinating with other consultants and permitting officials
Minimum of five years Revit project experience, actively working in Revit
AutoCAD proficiency
Microsoft Office proficiency
Bluebeam proficiency
Self-motivated with a high level of accountability
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Attention to detail and solid understanding of construction means and methods
Able to present comfortably to and build trust with clients, review boards and other stakeholders
Highly organized
Solid understanding of building code requirements
Can create technically sound building details
Ability to understand and prepare specifications
Understanding of engineering concepts and ability to discuss them with consultants and owners.
Understands client programs in order to translate them into appropriate building designs.
Expertise in one or more of ACS’ project types.

Education/Licenses:

Graduated with a NAAB-Accredited degree in Architecture – preferred.
Experience/Skills/Abilities:
Five years of experience working under a licensed architect in a design or production role
Minimum of three years Revit project experience, actively working in Revit
Advanced level AutoCAD
Microsoft Office proficiency
Bluebeam proficiency
Self-motivated with a high level of accountability
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Attention to detail and solid understanding of construction means and methods
